Garwood Loop Trail – Saguaro National Park

Saguaro National Park is practically in my backyard. And by practically I mean about 10 minutes from my backyard. I love hearing stories about how the park came to be and about the homesteaders that originally occupied the land. Can you imagine owning 480 acres with a house smack dab in the middle of what is now the national park? That would be an absolute dream. One benefit of living close to a national park is that the likelihood of your children taking a field trip to the park is high. Both my kids have visited Saguaro National Park with their classes and I was fortunate to attend as a chaperone both times. School field trips are some of my favorite days each year. Read more

I have spent the last couple of months studying for a test for work and it has consumed all of my free time.  Now that the test is behind me I am planning to spend more time on me.  If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.  I need to get back into a regular exercise routine and what better time to start than before I fill up my free time again.
